Ugh. Even the word "blackhead" is enough to make you cringe. Not only are they such unwelcome guests on our faces, but the very term we need to use to describe them is unpleasant at best.

I object to inflammatory articles that advocate persecution and descrimination towards Native Americans.

I've made this comment before, but I'll do it again.

I have been fighting blackheads for over 50 years because I have very oily skin. You name it, I've tried it. But...

About 2 years ago, I finally found a way. Sounds funny, but it works! Dab blackhead or area with plain, original Milk of Magnesia. Leave for 15 minutes, then wash off. MoM is a concentrated form of magnesium, which not only removes the "black spot" on the surface, but will penetrate the pore and dry up the oily clog, which will work its way up and out. Just try it for a few days and you will see the amazing difference. Don't use the flavored MoM; this will introduce syrup and/or dye into the pore.

Oh, this works for ALL clogged pores (bumps), not just the black-tipped kind.

And, if your whole face is oily, use the MoM as a facial masque.

Some times life just isn't fair. All through high school I had a perfect complexion. All my friends were jealous. But, at the tender age of 30, with the onset of my second pregnancy, I became a pimple farm. LOL I've had acne problems ever since.

I find the best way to deal with it is to wash with soap (Melaleuca Gold Bar) then exfoliate with a facial scrub and do a final refreshing rinse with icy cold water. Close those pores before they can get clogged.

Trizine, a scrub is not good for your skin; it only irritates the acne further. To exfoliate, use beta-hydroxy liquid or gel. If your face is oily, use the MoM facial masque (see my comment above). You will see the oiliness decrease in just a couple of days.

BTW, it is a myth that pores open and close.

Piece of cotton wool soaked in Apple Cider Vinegar and put on the blackhead will get rid of it in no time. Same works for warts and verucas.
