Be careful, Quinoa contains oxalate, and should be avoided by individuals with a history of kidney stones containing oxalate.

I love Quinoa (pronounced Keen-wa). If you have food co-ops in you city, you can probably find it there.

Or at most health foods stores. It's great and can be fixed in so many ways -- as a breakfast cereal, in salads, as a rice substitute, as a pasta substitute, and on and on and on.

Its a delicious (smoky grain flavor) alternative to wheat for those with gluten restrictions as well.

Yep. Quinoa is yummy. Amaranth was also a sacred plant. The Spaniards were scandalized, because it was being eaten in cakes as part of Indian religious ceremonies, so they banned it, and punished any who cultivated it by cutting off their hands.

It is now beginning to make a comeback.
