Quitting smoking even when other people around you are smoking should not be a big problem if you are really good at maintaining interpersonal relationship. Mind you, you are quitting smoking, not friendships. You can join your friends on lunch, dinners or get-togethers whenever possible.

So easy to say. Hard to do.

My mother fought the problem all of her life. My 32 year old daughter has been fighting it for over 10 years.

It told me 3-months to quit. Hardest thing to do in my life. And I was a light smoker.

I tried for years to quit...cold turkey...gum...zyban....al without success. Then I tried champix...it has been 6 weeks now....still not smoking. I can be around smokers and I am not tempted that much.

I haven't heard many good things about Champix, nicotine gum did the trick for me, but I believe that we're all different and we all just have to keep searching till we find the route that suits us best. Six weeks is great! Keep it up, and never let your guard down. I relapsed after 2 years and then smoked for another 5 years before I quit again, hopefully for the last time.
