  There is more to this story than included in this article.

  The U of Miss program was run by Carlton Turner,who became Reagan's top drug advisor.The patients recieving the govt marijuana complained about the weakness of the weed they were recieving.Turner explained that the pre-rolled cigarettes consisted of only the leaves of the plant,which contain very little of the THC needed to relieve their symtoms and that the more potent flowers ,or "buds" gummed up the rolling machines so they were just "thrown away".

  Turner was also the person in charge of approving the spraying of paraquat,an herbicide that when burned,converts to a form of cyanide.Turner didn't care if paraquat killed kids because they shouldn't be smoking it anyway.

    The sleaziest thing about Turner is that while he was in charge of spraying paraquat,he also developed a "paraquat test kit" for marijuana users to determine if their weed had been sprayed.When he attempted to advertise his test kit in High Times magazine,the editors were suspicious and checked with the FDA to see if the product was approved and found out that it was not,even though Turner had a whole warehouse full of kits ready to be sold with a label stating "approved by FDA".High Times reported this to the FDA and Tuner was stuck with the product.Federal courts went on to place an injunction prohibiting the use of paraquat in the US.

  This government is seriously Fd up.....as is the war on drugs. The main reason MJ is illegal is the drug companies would lose money on all the crap they manufacture which is far more harmful, deadly and seriously screws you up so bad you can't function.
