I have done many of these things on my own by experience and based on some advice from my mother. I have not even had a minor headache in more than 4 years now (ever since I cut down on soda and went up on water consumption)But when I had cold, I always slowed down as much as possible, put on a ski cap that completely covered my head and put on heavy socks (less energy lost )drink lottttt of Oj and other juices, chicken soup a must, especially right before serving I drop in some fresh cilantro and squeeze in fresh lemon juice. These always helped. But then as I said I have not been sick for more than 4 years now. Thanks mostly to water consumptions and lesssssss soda. I better knock on the wood..:)

don't chew your fingernails, wash your hands lots and don't eat hard candy in public if you intend on opening your mouth. if you get a cold, neo citrin, vodka and honey then go to bed.

Building a good immune system throughout the year helps as well. Limiting stress and all that is just common sense.

Reducing the acidity of your body is very important to combat any disease. As mentioned above, reducing the amount of sodas you consume helps a lot. I have nearly cut out all sodas in my diet. Except when out to dinner, I'll have a soda everyn now and again.

The more alkaline your body is, the better.

I don't know about that alkaline stuff . It's always been recommended to put a teaspoon of applecider vinegar in 8 oz. of water and drink once a day for body cleansing . How about the Germans , alot of stuff they eat over there is acidic . Do you know what the ratio is of them getting colds as oppossed to an alkaline diet ? Just curious .

Not my choice cure, but I've heard rumors that heroin adicts don't get colds. Something about the opiates. I'm not sure, but I think I may have shortened one or two colds by eating a lot of poppy seeds when I noticed I was getting sick.
