  Yes. We have a duty to take care of the wounded while we're doing what we must to end the condititions that are causing their suffering. Support the troops by bringing them home.

I support anything we can do for our veterans. We all must stay committed to supporting them no matter how we feel about this war.

  I totally agree. Taking care of the actual needs of vets whether its financial, physical or emotional is how we can support the troops. Cheap bumper sticker slogans don't support anyone.

I hope this continues as long as there is the need. And I also hope that every vet is given the treatment that will help them. As Searunner says, I too wish there was not the need.

Their efforts are certainly commendable; but our government owes them the greater of the commitments. I hope it will be there for them; it wasn't for us (vietnam vets) regarding agent orange and PTD, nor was it for the first gulf war.
This is a bright spot in a dark hole of history. I hope it continues too.

If our VA were working correctly and properly funded, this wouldn't have to be privately funded. Like MSNBC calls for phone support to our troops, it should all be automatic from our government - during Clinton's administration we had a policy for free morale support calls and the communications architecture that stated it should be possible from the front lines. Like Rummy taking the combat pay from the soldiers in Iraq with the comments that he'd find other ways to compensate the troops.

I have had family in Korea, Nam, Gulf and Iraq wars. These troops have needed us all this time, when they have been injured in the past or suffering from PTSD, we haven't been there for them like we should have been.
Thankfully, this is starting to change, and this is just the first step. It's wonderful to see, but it's a shame that the facility had to be funded by private donations instead of by our own government.
Like Searunner said, I wish we didn't have to - but it's good that we are being supportive. I don't like war, but I will always be there to support those who are willing to lay their lives down on the line for us.

How false your protest rings. Perhaps you never understood that 95% of Iraqi casualties were not inflicted by Americans "who bombed their homes with impunity," but by their own fellow Iraqis and co-religionists.
I do not support this war, in fact I objected before it even started, but there is no reason to blame Americans for the murderous behavior of the contending Iraqi factions.

This is a needed thing for the vets, i agree, I just wish we didnt have to have the need for it. All the deaths and injuries are the results of lies.

Man these guys are coming back with limbs missing and our government is doing nothing to help them.
If you go to war and get a mental or physical injury you should get the Best care available.
why is Bush cutting funding for the soldiers when they return.
