Dec. 22, 2006, 11:50 a.m.It isn't just the holiday season that can do the "gotcha". Go to Noah's site and check out the calories of one of their bagels! Don't even THINK about cream cheese on it either!

Dec. 23, 2006, 11:49 a.m.I say it's Christmas. Splurge, baby. Life's too short.
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely and in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, egg nog in hand, body thoroughly used up, totgally worn out screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

Dec. 25, 2006, 9:15 a.m.Weight wise, no it is not healthy!
However, I have noticed that whenever I am at my Mother's and I don't eat, she asks:
1. Are not feeling well?
2. Is something wrong with my cooking?
I have gotten in the habit of just enjoying myself and the food and bring a smile to my Mother's face!
Of course, I do the same when I eat at most other family or friends houses also.
However, when I eat at my house, or out, I usually am a little more careful what I eat & how much I eat!
For those who prepared the meal today; THANK YOU!
I'll eat my fair share!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, & Happy New Years!

Dec. 25, 2006, 5:59 p.m.I know few of you will agree with me, a holiday eating is ok, but we never seem to stop. After visiting the Rehab Hospital for stroke and diabetes, I can clearly state that it's not worth it.
People in wheel chairs or with both legs chopped off and blind when just a few years ago they were as healthy as any of us. And I'm not just talking about older folk. Most are victims of bad eating habits, too much sugar, too much salt, too much cholestorol and too much saturated and trans fats. The same ingredients as cookies. It's not just a case of gaining weight from these foods but the damage they do to you.
A little high blood pressure and a little narrowing of the arteries and boom your a high candidate for stroke and heart disease. A little too much sugar and wham, here comes diabetes.
I not preaching to you to make myself feel good but because I care about you folks. Merry Christmas.

Life is too short but you don't want to spend the last 20 or 30 years of your life in a wheelchair either by eating foolishly.
